DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA – Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious

Diablo Swing Orchestra (D:S:O) is a very special band from Sweden that was formed in 2003, or according to a “legend” in 1501! This story is revealed in a DVD that comes with the limited version of the album and it is presented as a “real story”. According to the official DVD, there was an orchestra in 1501 in Sweden performing seductive and “divine” music, recruiting many followers and gathering large audience. Their reputation made the mason church accuse them Read more…

MÅNEGARM – Nattväsen

MÅNEGARM – Nattväsen

The Viking metallers from Sweden are back with their sixth saga “Nattväsen” (Night Creatures). After 14 years of existence and 5 full-length albums Månegarm have definitely built a very strong name. So their 6th album, with a new label again (Regain Records), was highly anticipated.

From the first look at the album you can see the different and unusual (for Månegarm) artwork. Instead of the epic colored drawings by Kris Verwimp (which I prefer), they use this time Read more…

THYRFING – Hels Vite

THYRFING – Hels Vite

The anticipation in listening to a new Thyrfing album is always great for me! Thyrfing’s “Valdr Galga” was actually the first album of Viking black metal I’ve ever listened to it and it really dragged me to this genre. So together with “Urkraft” these two are in my favourites! “Vansinnesvisor” in 2002 and “Farsotstider” in 2005 were less Viking oriented (good albums, but I didn’t like them like their predecessors) and now comes this new album, the 6th in the Read more…

MÖRKER – Höstmakter

MÖRKER – Höstmakter

Their sound of this Swedish band has evolved a lot compared to their previous works. They are still in the general category of pagan black metal, but there are many differences. Their music Read more…
