VINTERRIKET - Gardarsholmur

Vinterriket is the solo and main project of Christoph Ziegler from Germany (also in Nebelkorona, Atomtrakt, Battle Dagorath, Fräkmündt, Dânnâgôischd, Sturmpercht). He started this band in 1996 and he has countless releases since then. Most of his albums belong in the dark ambient genre, with folk / neofolk elements and some black metal albums or songs. The album “Garðarshólmur” was released in 2012 directly by Vinterriket and it is one of his most special releases.

BLAHO - Through Sinister Nightfall

Norwegian black metallers Blåhø have just released a very promising and beautiful debut album! The band was formed in the beginning of 2008 by Anders and Mr.Dementia, while Disme joined them later this year. The band got finally a complete 6-member line-up, but after Mr.Dementia’s departure in 2010, the only permanent members are Anders and Disme, who work with session musicians since then. In the beginning of 2013 Blåhø finally self-released their debut album “Through Sinister Nightfall“.

ODRAEDIR – Troll’s Cave (EP)

ODRAEDIR - Trolls Cave

A new pagan folk metal band from Czech Republic has just released its first official work, the EP “Troll’s Cave“. The band was formed a few years ago and in 2011 released the 5-track demo EP “Pagan Forest“, where they played raw and somehow amateur underground folk pagan black metal. The songs though had some nice parts and I found their powerful guitars very interesting. Let’s see what their new work has to offer…

AN NORVYS – Sins and Stones (EP)

AN NORVYS - Sins and Stones

French Celtic folk metallers An Norvys return with their second EP “Sins and Stones” in the end of 2012, almost 2 years after their demo EP “One and All” that was released in the beginning of 2011. The band continues on the same style with its first work, but this time new elements were added and many others have improved in my opinion.

Like its predecessor, “Sins and Stones” contains 4 songs and lasts Read more…
